Weekly Teacher-led Meditation and Dharma Talk

Bloom of the Present is offering a weekly teacher-led meditation and dharma talk.

Each week on Thursdays there will be a drop-in meditation period followed by a dharma talk and discussion. Carla Brennan, BOTP Guiding Teacher, will usually be leading the session. When Carla is unable to teach, there will be a guest teacher or senior student. New and experienced students are welcome to attend.

Talk: “Awakening in the World”
Lisa Dale Miller, LMFT, LPCC, SEP, is licensed to practice psychotherapy in California, New York and Oregon. She specializes in Integrative Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing Therapy and Embodied Presencing skills for complex trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, stress disorders and relational discord. She is the author of a highly regarded textbook on Buddhist psychology for mental health professionals, Effortless Mindfulness: Genuine mental health through awakened presence. Her greatest joy is training clinicians in the applications of mindfulness and Buddhist psychology. She is a dharma teacher and has been a yogic and Buddhist meditation practitioner for over four decades.

DONATIONS: This program is offered on a “dana” basis. There is a suggested sliding scale of $5-15 for the evening. More or less is gratefully accepted. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Non-monetary donations are also welcomed.

Please arrive on time and stay for the entire program.

PARKING: 920 41st Ave. is at the corner of Bain Ave. and 41st. It is near the Family Cycling Center and across Bain from Betty’s Burgers. There is a parking lot behind the 920 41st building and there is parking on Bain Ave. Please enter the building from the parking lot side.
